Just got back from hobart, the show was part of a two week festival of the arts based around winter solstice.Basically backed by a professional gambler with the largest privately owned museum of art in the southern hemisphere(so i was told) but also supported by the local government as well. Most businesses changed their lighting to red-was awesome walking around at night in a red glow.No actual redlight action of the traditional value though.Setup was one of the best ive been to-top hotel, full catering and stage crew-and a killer venue and stage setup. Not bad for a midweek slap in the face!

Assuming it wasn't anything like this...

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Boy, I haven't posted in this thread in a few years! Trying to find the right fit in a band has been an ongoing struggle for me since moving to Auckland, but it seems like I might be onto a good thing finally. Just joined these guys about a month ago, and did our first gig last Saturday - at a bowling club! Was a bit hesitant about the venue but we sold 110 tickets out of the venue's 130 person capacity so we'll call that a win! And we've been invited back again in a few months.

That's really funny...

Ben, I saw your name on the latest post to this thread and thought "I'll look at pictures of the Bull Kelp Surfers" but the page took a while to load so the first thing that comes up is the picture of a skull from Kris' post. I was momentarily stunned by your change of direction.
"Vince, have you ever tried playing an expensive bass?" - Polarbear.
"And isn't that the finest acoustic bass guitar feedback solo you've ever heard?" - Billy Moose.

I always find it interesting when I see Asian themed christian churches. Their traditional cultures have had other religions for eons and it kind of feels like they're throwing their hand in to a judeo-christian culture that suits the modern world a bit better than the old views. Obviously just my opinion here and I get that anyone can believe in whatever flying spaghetti monster they want.
