Sorry mate, nothing to report. I shifted flats recently and everything is still packed up. Motivation is low. I'll probably mock up some faceplates in the mean time to get things moving again. Keep an eye out

The bassist in a band I do sound for has a bass man 100 head which he occasionally uses. That thing into an 8x10 sounds amazing.

Any of the Sunn amps

Ampeg SVT sounds the meanest, but keeping the 6 x 6550s happy is an art form, and the transformer weight is a beaatch.

100W -200W Fender tube bass amps are tried and true.

Repaired a Marshall VBA 400 a couple of weeks back, That amp is an absolute monster!

What had happened to it Alan?

It was intermittently blowing the filament supply fuse F3.
I tracked the fault down to arcing under some silicon goop between the anode and filament
terminals on one of the 6550 sockets. (Pins 2&3)
The output valve section is hard wired on this beast.
The arc would appear after an hour or so of operation as a faint ticking noise.
I also installed a small veroboard panel to mount 8x 250 mA fuses for each of the 6550 cathodes so that
if an output valve should fail the amp can still operate and the blown fuse indicates which valve is
Short circuit.
Eight 6550 are not cheap to replace.

Ok so i can't be arsed with the preamps that have 200k plate resistors (for now anyway). So here is the to do list as of now:

.Generic Fender type
.Ampeg SVT
.Marshall VBA
.Orange AD200B/Sunn Model T hybrid

I need to get you to have a hoon on the module head through one of your bass cabinets. Some of the stock preamps should go well
