That looks cool!!! - it kind of has a similar vibe to your jazzmaster doesn't it. With a translucent mat finish etc

That is going to be a great asset for our dubstep project.

I've got the combined noise of my wake up alarm and a shopping trolley with a stuck wheel to go with it.

Cashconverters have a better range of cheap basses than Trademe atm. Not sure if they ship though. I would pick up the MTD P-bass they have listed if didn't already have the same model. Chuffed with mine. Do want MTD J-bass to round out the set

Anyone play with a pick apart from wannabe guitar players like me? I really like the tone I get with a thick guitar pick :)

I use both, some songs sound wrong without a pick and vice versa. And some songs I play with both - pick in the chorus, fingers during verse.

Sometimes but not often

Quite like a pick with bridge mute

Anthony Jackson on the O'Jays " For the Love of Money" is a great Bass Guitar with plectrum track.

Interestingly for me I found the tonal change on the bass was very pronounced compared to guitar with changing picks!

.6 to 1MM is a different world

Plectrum width is also to be considered with String Gauge

Btw check out Carol Kaye pick tutorials some good things there

Bobby Vega is a genius with a pick.

Check out “I get high on you” by Sly Stone.

The Carol Kaye recommendation is an excellent one.

For bass everything seems more pronounced when you change it.
Strings make an outrageous difference just between brands - I’m DR fan with round wounds - Sunbeams for Precisons, Fat Beams for Jazz Bass, Hi-Beams for Stingray. D’Addario Chromes for flatwounds.
