I tried that 1 bass thing for a while......cough cough. It didn't work out that way in the end ;-)

Far be it for me to suggest you head towards that slippery slope but,...................................................... go there :)

You don't tune much below standard eh? Shortscale!

I only use 35" fivers or 34" four stringers

How you position your strap will make a big difference

In the seated position push the instrument out on your left thigh

No shit.

I'm not in favor of selling a bass because of scale length playability. If you got a Steinberger tomorrow you shouldn't sell your Hollowbody Aria eh.

Nope I wouldn't, the Aria is an instrument of delight :) It permanently sits on the right knee. the cricket bat doesn't sit there naturally, but does on a strap. So swapping between somewhat buggers me up.

I think I'm saying - do you have both long and short and do you swap between.

Yes I can and do play different scale basses
Practice and mucking around with strap length helped me.

When you first went headless did you have an issue with your left hand overshooting low? It appears to have been a common thing. It's a solvable problem through practical application.

Also if the Aria is 30" / Cort 34" that's a far larger discrepancy than my situation so 100% ymmv

Yep I did, always a long scale player. Aria II John Taylor fan boi.... the aria is 29 something I think, so yeah that 4 or 5 inches makes the difference, according to my wife oh-err!!!

However, I still managed to knock a pint of water over in my office last night, with its headstock. Some of it on the new Headrush. Consequently, I would have no problem gigging he headrush because it was impervious to the drenching.

I'm just not sure I want to swap between basses and hit bum notes. I don't like looking at fretboards, and I'm comfortable with one scale length. Got to decide which one :(

Agreed. I was (and still am) a fan of JT and those Aria Pro II Sb basses. I used to have an SB1000 which was an outstanding bass. But I sold that back in the UK. I've since got an SB700 which is the same bass only passive.
Every time I pick mine up, I can't help but break into Rio or Girls on Film... :-)

+1 I had an SB600 for a while and it was fantastic. Should never have sold it!

So, moved it on, just can't switch between - I'm too old and cranky. I'm new molly :)

Welp, prefer this to short scale which is odd.

I continue to enjoy basses.

Now my cricket bat guitar won’t get lonely

I am so pleased

That is a cracking bass, needs flats though :)

I've put literally hundreds of hours on my short scale in the recent months. My muscle memories are built on it. I'm hitting bum notes constantly on a long scale ~ love it though, probly my one and only now!
