It's not a typical Jass neck.
Also, what tones/pickups were you referencing when winding the pickup?

Mmm, or one of the JMF-FAT necks. Great fit for my hand, Jazz width but quite deep. Great feeling.

I think they're part of the Allparts selection. Might just be the rosewood version of it.snitchez wrote:where do u get those from? imlooking around for another maple maple neck.TmcB wrote:Mmm, or one of the JMF-FAT necks. Great fit for my hand, Jazz width but quite deep. Great feeling.

Allparts JMO with a bit of tweaking to make it smoother and rounder.TmcB wrote:What kind of neck have you chosen to put on this?

I didn't have any reference tones in mind when making the pickup, I just wanted to see how longer magnets worked out with mostly standard other parameters. Is there something in particular it reminds you of?

Well, it's a really nice neck on a great bass.ash wrote:Allparts JMO with a bit of tweaking to make it smoother and rounder.TmcB wrote:What kind of neck have you chosen to put on this?

I did a review and some clips with/for Ed btw, and when I had a good listen the pickups reminded me a great deal of Nordstrand NP4's, maybe with a tiny bit less bass and a little more treble. Made for a great crunchy, aggressive sound.

Yup, much thanks for that - and the bass is currently winging its way back up to Ash Customworks, just in time for the Akl Gearfest!

I don't play bass, but I wish I did. Such an amazing little bass, loved the neck, love the pickups, great wood for the body and love the natural wood finish.

Re: Radian Bass
Thank ye gentle-fellows. I'm glad to hear that it tickled your bass clefs.
The Nordy comparison is interesting... a pretty nice target. My P-bass pickup and theirs have a couple of things in common but also several big differences in construction so it must be a pretty solid coincidence that they sound similar.
Assuming the bass arrives today, Auckland Gearfesters will get a crack at it this Sunday.

Also, Ash Customworks and Six-String Samurai are doing the mean collaborationz to give away one swanky Radian Guitars t-shirt!! Check out the link below on how you can WINNNNNN!
