Tried communicating with Glynn but communication doesn't seem to be his strength.

Any other recommendations?

Andries really screwed up my guitar. I posted a big review of the experience but the mods removed it, despite it being verbatim from the guy. He basically ruined my explorer to make work for himself, didn't listen to a thing I requested or said and just did his own thing.

It was my absolute dream guitar, and he pretty much ruined it.

Yip, i saw your original post. I don't want to start a keyboard warrior war or anything but i have to say that based on your account of the events it just looked like a communication breakdown. I am not going to say who i think was at fault etc. it is what it is but there are always two sides to every story.

I am sorry your guitar didn't live up to your expectations after the work was completed. I will say however that whatever happened in your situation is NOT reflective of Andries skills, knowledge and experience. Neither is it a reflection of his work ethic.

I am not here to take sides but i do feel obliged to defend his name and the work he does based on not only my own experience but also feedback from MANY other people who have had him work on their guitars.

I have used every other tech mentioned in this thread and more and never have i come across a guy that can compete with Andries in terms of passion, skill, service and knowledge. Your experience obviously didn't work out the way you wanted, like i said, sounds like things just broke down during communication.

I think you need to look at this in context. Your account is one negative experience. Compared to how many positive ones? Perhaps your communication, personalities, expectations etc. where just not compatible with one another. It can happen in any trade.

If you are sure you need a refret, and you want it done very well with a quick turnaround and a reasonable price, Audio Zephyr is excellent. His fretwork is impeccable. However, I wouldn't go to him for a basic setup or even a fret level/crown as he'll probably just try to convince you you need a refret even if you don't.

Agreed - I also found Warren excellent. His refret was superb, but I'll always wonder if it was truly necessary...

Gene at G-Spot is back online, he's been sick and not working, but my workmate got an email from him yesterday saying he's happy to do the work needed.
