Re: Project Anchor
great project. That finish on the body needs total annihilation. Checked the Revelator guitars page. Great looking work if relics are your thing (Im a fan).
How long does it take for Nitro to be able to crack? Thin skin and a hot air gun?

Re: Project Anchor
That finish definitely is a bit Big Save Furniture, but should turn out sweet in your capable hands

I can't get it to crack. I've an article somewhere about here that explains why modern nitro doesn't behave like the stuff of old (well, not the stuff we can get here in NZ anyway).dayl wrote:great project. Re: Project Anchor
This'll give you an idea of what it sounds like (low gain channel). Fret buzz here and there will need sorting. I rather like the sound of it just the same:

Re: Project Anchor
Never heard that much fret buzz come through an amp before.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Worth it for the ginormous 'clang' on that last E chord. Love that clang!Slowy wrote:Never heard that much fret buzz come through an amp before.

Re: Project Anchor
Not sure, sorry, but I wanted to make some money on it and I tend to think that's kind of an uncool endeavour within the forum. On TradeMe all bets are off!Bg wrote:didn;t I have dibs on this?

Re: Project Anchor
I can't see the appeal to be honest, they're carbon copies of fenders with a droopy dong headstock!

Different strokes for different folks. Zero point zero % of the pointy headstock brigade appeal to me, whether they are great guitars or not.jeremyb wrote:I can't see the appeal to be honest, they're carbon copies of fenders with a droopy dong headstock!

Re: Project Anchor
I thought I cared about the headstock and the squared-off end of the neck around the 22nd fret. Then I bought one and now don't give a toss about those things.jeremyb wrote:I can't see the appeal to be honest, they're carbon copies of fenders with a droopy dong headstock!
When I got mine I thought it was a bit sanitised and characterless. Kind of uninteresting in the way that a new BMW might be uninteresting. Great quality but, so what.... But I've lived with it alongside my CS '60 (the best CS Strat I've had) and the CBS Strat. I've rotated them endlessly and just keep coming back to the Suhr. It sounds the best, plays the best and it's the best put together.
