From an engineer's perspective, they are notably superior to most Fenders. Think WRX Subaru vs 458 Ferrari.jeremyb wrote:I can't see the appeal to be honest, they're carbon copies of fenders with a droopy dong headstock!

Re: Project Anchor
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I can't say I think it's perfect though. I don't like the chrome tuners. Nickel would look nicer. And though mine's a compound 9" to 12" it feels flatter.
I also thought the noise cancelling circuitry took some of the character from the pickups but I now suspect that the 'character' was in fact just extraneous noise.

I guess I've still got the CS '60 for the album cover.jeremyb wrote:But a Ferrari doesn't look like a worse version of a WRX!!Slowy wrote:From an engineer's perspective, they are notably superior to most Fenders. In fairness, I don't think the CS Strat is particularly lacking anywhere. It's rosewood and just sounds darker. I just prefer the sound of the Suhr.

Cheaper to buy the Suhr.JHorner wrote:Put suhr electronics in CS strat, get classic looks with preferred tone?
Also, the necks on the Suhrs are better than the CS necks (at least the ones I've played) - and Suhr do sell options that include a non-droop headstock for those that it bothers, as well as the Antiques, relic'd versions etc.

Re: Project Anchor
nice straight grain on that neck.
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

They stand behind their work. If a neck ever warps, they'll replace it.mrmofo wrote:nice straight grain on that neck.
