Waterslide Decals

Post by Hollowpoint »

Anyone had waterslide decals printed before? I know you can print them yourself but I need white for a black headstock and most consumer printers don't have white ink.

I'm thinking of giving these guys a try... http://www.rothkoandfrost.com/custom-wa ... ars-bikes/

Any other recommendations?

Cheers!

Might be wrong, but you are unlikely to get anything printed on a decal that's white. To get white, I think the decal/image needs to be silk screen printed? Some of the pedal builders might be able to point you in the right direction.

Good luck, be interested to find out how you get on.

The place I linked above say they can definitely do it but they say they don't use inkjet or laser printing so I'm not sure what their method is...

There's an example here: https://i.imgur.com/EOR7qwV.jpg

I think I'll give them a shot

Be good to see the results. I've bought paint off them before and their sales team were really good with questions etc.

I got some decals (waterslide) from a model airplane maker. White ink too. I just sent the words and artwork over in a word file, he printed and mailed them to me. Easy. It was $9 a page I think.

Just had a look through my email and couldn't find his name sorry. He was an older guy called mark, I found him on the second page of google when searching for model decals. He prints stuff for military models, that kinda thing.

In regards to getting white in your decal, depending on the complexity of your logo you could always use a fine paint brush. Time consuming, but I've found it works ok.. I think I used enamel model paint

Finally got mine done by Rothko and Frost in the UK, worked out to be about $24 all up and a bit of a nightmare to put on but I'm pretty happy with the result....
