3 sc pup switching suggestions

Post by Rog »

I have a 3 x P90 pickup guitar pickguard with 3 dpdt switches on it in addition to the std strat 5 way switch. I'm just tossing ideas around at possible passive wiring concepts.

So far, I'm with: leave the std switch as is (Strat) - that's firm.

S1: Neck and Bridge series/parallel ~ sort of passive boost effect for leads when playing neck or bridge
S2: Switch in Bridge to neck, rather like the blend posts (except sw only) on my Strats adds treble to neck for bite
S3: no fecking idea ?????

Bear in mind that I'm an old time r'n'r/country player these days so don't need killswitch or whatever. I am also primarily a neck pup player.
For S3, I thought about a bass cut or treble cut, but dismissed those ideas as having no real use to me.

What say you modders who know wtf you're doing?

Definately number two. The neck and bridge combination is magical.

Matt, I've bought two blend kits from you, one discrete and t'other Obsidian. On the discrete kit, one of the legs on the blend pot broke off, so it's wired backwards compared to the Obsidian kit. Do you sell the blend pots separately?

in that case, just leave the switches but don't connect them, then go through the various switching options while asking if they can hear the subtle and delicate nuances...

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...
