Artec ResoVibe - courtesy of Stompbox.co.nz
The resovibe pedal by Artec ( I got mine Via Trademe, Via CD, Via his website stompbox.co.nz ) is a three mode compact pedal with a familiar feel but a broad sound.
It sounds like a tremolo and wah pedal and phaser linked up and ever so slightly out of synch.
The three modes available are vibe, reso low and reso Hi - the vibe is a super tasty trem with very subtle shifts if you play nice nice with the knobs, the low res is a little too subtle for most people looking for an effects sound, but none the less a great sound and a "could leave it on all the time" enhancer.
The Hi res is the trick of this pedal. The depth and speed controls do the trem side of the sound, but the range knob sets the breadth of the res, or the wah-ing, sweep.
This works almost like a sequenced phaser peaking gently with the trem, but not quite in time. the range feature is then tied to the tremming and subtle changes in the controls make a massive difference in the overall tone -from wet reso wop-wop-wop ness to smooth swish an glisten.
Lordy, Lord - this is a great blues soloing, hanging chords, chiming kind of pedal - and Cheap cheap.
This is the second artec analog pedal Ive got, its their upgraded series and this and the analog delay are mighty good for the price -in fact I'd challenge this pedal to a head on with the Red witch moon phaser and see if you could really say there's 200 in sound difference, no beef with RW - I've had two moon phasers and a Medusa - I just talking bang for buck.
What has we learnt?
Cheap pedal with use able but unique sound.
loads of knob tweaking goodness in a rugid steel box, fully analog.
and from a forum member, ahh warm fuzzies

Inster-a-ting.
Are these just new out? There's nothing on his site about them.

The English on that site ain't too good neither.
They look like pretty decent pedals, CD has some cool gears going at the moment. I'm hoping to win Lotto so I can buy a Tap-A-Whirl.

I have a Tap A Whirl that I bought through CD. You guys probably know that already, but I just saw a prime opportunity to brag, and I wasn't about to let that pass me by. It is one seriously cool pedal.

If he doesn't want to swap it for my Bad Monkey, I think I'm going to get an EHX Pulsar.
The Tap-A-Whirl and Semaphore are a little too rich for me.

I love my Tap-a-Whirl, next to the screamer - they are the two pedals I'll never sell. Unless I get a screamer v2mr_sooty wrote:I have a Tap A Whirl that I bought through CD. Re: Artec ResoVibe - courtesy of Stompbox.co.nz
Thanks for the review Kev.
I only initially got a sample of each pedal of the Artec Custom range to assess them. I've since added the Stereo Chorus to my own rack, which has bucket brigade chips ( i will replace it with the Diamond Halo again at some stage). they definitely do have some gems in the range...my picks would be the Delay, Chorus, Resovibe and Twin Head Overdrive. Across the board, they do sound very musical and organic .... and they they don't appear to tone suck, and true bypass is a bonus for the price
I'm actually really low on most pedals at the moment.... Diamond are backordered like never before... i might have some Halo, Comp and fireburst action in the next week, but no luck on the Mem Lane II and the Boost EQ still
The Screamer V2 and Screamer Fuzz V2's came and went already
