Went to the San Fran on Friday 18th for the Aaron Tokona Tribute Buzz.
Took the 17 year old so he could experience what local live music is about.
What a buzz!!!
Fantastic bands covering Aarons career from Weta through to AHoriBuzz.
The Black Seeds opened and they set the scene for some great musicianship all with a cool vibe.
Skinny Hobos guitarist kicked out the Cairo Knife Fight stuff with aplomb - man, he was good and the drummer locked in so well, was hard pushed to tell it was only the two of them - very much like when CKF opened for Them Crooked Vultures.
The Weta buzz went off. Nate Campbell......OMG.....He also did Spoonman with Skinny Hobos dude and man can he hit the Cornell vibe.
The Weta era band were sublime and the groove the bass player laid down - not only musically but with all his being pushing the groove - was amazing to watch and listen to.
Booga from HLAH came out and the band kicked into Comfortably Shagged - so much energy live it gave you goosebumps.
Booga did have A3 sized paper with the lyrics on for Back In Black and Snapshot.....he did his best.....he should have listened to the songs a bit more.
Unfortunately, had to leave before the AHoriBuzz era was played.
Anyone else go to this or any of the other shows they were doing as a tribute?
Love to hear your reviews.
