Just got back from the Hans Zimmer concert tonight. Govan rocking out on a Kemper. Holy shit that boy can play.

Damn. Had no idea he was even here. My Dad went to see him last year at a Victory clinic in the UK, 'world class player' were his exact words.

Good God Hans doing concerts? When I worked with him he could barely play. Everything entered into a Fairlight and very wooden.

Very good. Not a tone I would use but I've heard his other stuff and it matched his type of tone. Cut through really well too.

Late to the party here but just reading the comment about Guthrie's tone- I reckon given the context (playing with a huge number of other instruments) it would be difficult to have a great tone and still be heard.
