of all things.....Buble

Post by Lawrence »

ok so Smaltz is not everyones cup of tea but I went with the wife to see the Michael Buble movie.

Shit damn that was a good vocal sound. using a neumann handheld and with every note of the song clearly practiced for mic distance and angle this was a masterclass in technique.

Up close and intimate, out long and big...not a single plosive. I started to think the whole thing had been re recorded but Im pretty sure it wasnt (no signs of a rerecord credit or any sort of post-production credits other than video editing - and lots of throwaway lines and adlibs)

Guitarists were playing a strat and a fano JM6 jazzmaster with P90s..could not see any amps on stage.

I heard his hibernation season ended early this year due to global warming. It would seem our dependence on fossil fuels will result in more Buble. I'm not religious but this has a very 'end times, second coming ' feel to it.
