Surf's Up
Everyone except jvpp, robroymccoy and myself can now curl into a foetal position of deprivation and regret. You missed something.
A whole gig of surf music turns out to be a refreshing and excellent idea.
Mr Strummers sir, you've got skills. Ben's old Gretsch sounded big, woody and fabulous and boys, hang on tight to your rhythm section; I know a dozen people who'd nick them in an instant.
This is a very cool band. They promise to play again. You want to be there when they do.

Re: Surf's Up
It was rather good. Slowie forgot to tell they were also smartly dressed, wearing turquoise shirts and black tie.
Very talented foursome. Would like to hear some Stray Cats stuff thrown in some time.

When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

I definitely think Hawaiian shirts but the Band doesn't agree with me.

Oh haha, that's a pity, that green one with the ebony fretboard would've matched well. Which Gretsch was in action for this one? Audio clips and photos plz.Slowy wrote:That Gretsch is long gone. Lols this magenta-green ensemble (which looks like the photo was taken on the 2nd or 3rd of Movember) doesn't quite fit the "surf" theme. Unless "Gert" is Austrian for "bull kelp" or something.
