The band that wrote: "Die With Your Boots On". Possibly the worst, most cringe-inducing record of all time. Oh, and the close second: "Holy Smoke".
Yeah, I might go anyway.... LOL.

The Video for Holy Smoke makes up for how shit the song is. Out of the 100+ Iron Maiden songs, you have pointed out 2 of their worst, doubt they'll be included in the live set.Molly wrote:The band that wrote: "Die With Your Boots On". Bad Maiden songs are like bad sex or bad pizza: still better than 99% of everything.

Re: Iron Maiden 2016
Oldie... I met Maiden once
Well... Bruce, Niko and one of the guitarists (sorry not that knowledgable) It was at the London guitar show about 12 years ago, maybe more? Back then it was a pretty low key event and we went on a Thursday I think? They put a band together with Phil Hilbourne (awesome) and his bass player. Niko was on drums and to start with Bruce was just watching until he got invited to the stage. After a few songs they said thanks and would be happy to sit at the front of the stage and share stories. I was young, naive and unaware I was in the presence of rock Royalty. There were the 5 of them and about 15 of us, after everyone else had left the room to go back and see Eric Roche (google him... amazing, sadly passed away a few years ago)
Niko is a riot... so funny... pretty mad really... almost concerning. Best drum kit ever though!!! it's bloody huge, but he can really play. Very underrated I reckon. All very nice, very funny guys that you would just love to have a few pints with, sat in a pew and the local.

Re: Iron Maiden 2016
Maybe. We are going to be spending a bunch of time in rural Herefordshire, and I'll have the kids on my own while I'm in London. And the show I'd most want to catch over there would be Iron Maiden...godgrinder wrote:You'll probably be able to catch a dozen other shows though.hamo wrote:FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK it looks like I will be in the UK for most of May, reckon I am going to miss out.

Re: Iron Maiden 2016
Scrabbling for some hope, I looked at their site.
Comprehensive sounds good! But I will still probs be away. Europe tour starts late May, so I *might* have an in there. I tell you what though, if they play the Cake Tin and I'm half way around the world, there will be tears before bedtime.A long awaited return to JAPAN follows later in April, and then the band are delighted to be playing their first ever shows in CHINA before heading to NEW ZEALAND and AUSTRALIA for a comprehensive tour during the first half of May. Shows in SOUTH AFRICA, Maiden’s first visit there with Bruce, will be the last port of call before Ed Force One heads to EUROPE for a very extensive tour starting in late May and finishing in early August. This will the first time Ed Force One has ever been used on any European Tour dates (other than Bruce’s Fan Club trips to shows) and will provide transport there for at least for the first few weeks.
