Re: Iron Maiden 2016
I love "If Eternity Should Fall" and "Empire of the Clouds". Rest is growing on me. There's a lot to get through and it takes a few spins!
A couple of average tracks but they can't all be classics. Some of them give me a Brave New World vibe.

This shows another side of Nicko's playing- you're right, he is underratedLes_Paul86 wrote:Oldie... I met Maiden once
Niko is a riot... so funny... pretty mad really... almost concerning. Best drum kit ever though!!! it's bloody huge, but he can really play. Very underrated I reckon. All very nice, very funny guys that you would just love to have a few pints with, sat in a pew and the local.

Re: Iron Maiden 2016
I'm loving the bulk of it. Speed Of Light is actually really growing on me, I do like the the main verse riff quite a lot. If Eternity Should Fail is a standout track for me, and for the most part I feel like the strongest stuff is loaded toward the beginning of the album, with the exception of the epic Empire of the Clouds. Whoever said they've segued into being more of a prog band is on the money, but I still found plenty of good old Maiden rock n roll riffage to sink my teeth into. This is a strong effort IMO.

Dave Murray not using Marshall any more. http://www.victoryamps.com/whats-new
Also apparently used Les Paul's extensively on Book of Souls.

Victory amps essentially Cornford's so that's a win for me.
Super stoked for Martin Kidd

Re: Iron Maiden 2016
I can't wait to see them, although I'll probably be going by myself. I missed them last time (2009?). Have they announced where they'll be playing? Probably Mt. Smart again?
Good info scooter. Hard to imagine Murray not using a strat. Congrats to Victory amps also - such a formidable player using their gear should result in a massive boost for that company.
I haven't heard the new album yet. I don't expect any of the pathetic NZ radio stations will be giving us a taste of it either.

Re: Iron Maiden 2016
I will be at this show. The drummer in my band is taking me along to witness 'the greatest drummer of all time'. The rest of my band aren't Maiden fans so the drummer always has to sneak his Maiden cds into the tour wagon! They really do have some epic tracks, big fan of the song Powerslave.
