NVM, Sorry guys, dilemma is over - checked out the Almansa further but I actually preferred my current Manuel Rodriguez!
Quite into flamenco at the moment, especially Carlos Montoya!

Dilemma
I have GAS for a Spanish Almansa flamenco guitar I already have enough guitars though... the only one I would be willing to part with is Epiphone 1958 Korina Flying V model I could try and sell it, but from what I have seen is V's don't seem to be everyone's ideal guitar and I don't just want to giv...

Redwitch Pedals
I'm loving the sound of these from the demons I've been listening to on youtube. They are pretty pricey though.
Anyone have experience with them? Are they worth the extra dollar?

Re: Setting up a home recording studio
I need some help again lol.
I finally got a pair of recording headphones, which I'm using plugged into the Scarlett interface. How do I get them activated in Ableton? I'm getting no sound from them >.<

Re: Setting up a home recording studio
Wow ... was that the i5 and the Scarlett? That sounded better than my setup. Mmmmmm ... Yep, it sure was :D Proximity... of course. I think the high gain switches only affect inputs 3 and 4 (at least it appears that way from the control panel). You have to get pretty close with any dynamic mic to g...

Re: Recommendations Acoustic/Electric
Have you had a look at the Rockshop clearance sale?
There's some good deals on Takamine and Epiphone [though a bit larger then your budget].
http://www.rockshop.co.nz/shop/clearanc ... 8&limit=30
and there's always Ibanez, Fender, Greg Bennett, Tanglewood...
Good luck

Re: Setting up a home recording studio
Hey guys, I got everything working now thankfully [Thanks for your replies]. I switched if over to high gain and moved the microphone alot closer when I was playing and it seemed to do the trick. Records at a very nice quality, will be better when I learn more about using it in depth. https://www.yo...

Re: Setting up a home recording studio
At a guess I'd say you're probably recording a mic through a line input (or the input is set to line rather than mic). Are you by any chance using an XLR to TRS Jack cable to connect your microphone to the interface? Is your interface a Focusrite 8i6? How do you change the input to mic instead of l...

Re: Setting up a home recording studio
Hard to tell without looking at your channel settings in Ableton. The Focusrite mixer is a red-herring. You only really need that for routing an input directly to an output on the interface itself (for example sending your mic directly to your speakers without having Ableton even open). At the mome...

Re: Setting up a home recording studio
Hey all, So everything has arrived and I've got it all set up, but I'm having difficulties.... I don't understand how to set up the router preset with the DAW in the Preamps Software MixControl. Can anyone help me? http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m487/EleazaribnEzra/MixControl.jpg I'm just using...

Re: Setting up a home recording studio
Do you think the Focusrite Scarlett or the Line 6 is a better unit? I was just reading over reviews of the two, and quite a few people seem to have encountered problems with both. Thanks. The Focusrite unit is supposedly better and would be better suited to what you are doing - however - I am a (ba...

Re: What are you gassing for?
I remember seeing quite a few V's on the Rockshop clearance sale. There were Epiphone, ESP, BC Rich, Gibson (Melody makers), Jackson & Hamer. I'd totally snatch one if I had the dough lol.*UNIQUE* wrote:I know what you mean...I'm hanging for a V.

Re: Setting up a home recording studio
Thank you all for your replies so far. TBH, I'm a bit confused and my mind is bogged already lol. Can someone explain to me how the preamp works? It attaches through USB right, and does it run as an intermediary between your guitar and amp [much like an effects processor? Alongside this, you do have...
