Re: Why all the voxs?

> I've always thought it would be nice to have an vox but I'm concerned at the number getting flicked off on TM. Is there something people are not liking bout them? I've owned an AC4TV for over six months that I got from Musicplanet (a good deal through PB). Fantastic amp. Speaker upgraded (Celestio...

Cheers for that. I think I'll give it a pass. Someone is selling one cheap(ish) on TM, but it looks a bit expensive for what it does.

Fender Greta mini amp

Does anyone have one of these? I read through the only thread I could find on here about the Excelsior and Greta and there was no real info. I've listened to a couple of clips on youtube and even through an external cab it sounds pretty harsh, though some people say it is a great little amp (I'm thi...

Re: Luthiers in Wellington for setup/repairs?

Regarding Kenny Duncan. I'm not disputing anything anyone has said in this thread, but my 2c worth on a simple interaction with the guy recently, for the first time to buy some saddles, was that it was pretty straightforward and he responded well to emails and the product was in stock. He has some s...

eBook I've started reading by Dave Zimmerman

Not sure if this has been posted before (I did a quick search and found a non-specific reference to this guy's book) Anyway, I have started reading this in order to better understand my equipment (AC4TV and an SG standard) and just amps+tone+tubes in general. A pretty good read so far. You can 'look...

Getting the footswitch for these amps really helps as well, your custom channels can be used with the preset to give you three channels. I found the FX switching a bit odd though.

If you're using a line-out link from the amp then it will probably bypass the power stage & so sound tinny and cheap.

If you're using a mic in front of the amp then it could be the mic quality or the quality of your soundcard.

I've heard of some companies wanting this - a scan of both sides of the card faxed to them to prove you've got it with you. Apparently it is legit though it sounds dodgy as to me...

Might be a bit of a risk after a hot curry!

Reminds me a bit of this product which is kind of cool:

Do you know what sort of soundcard you have? Try the line-in port (it should have one) rather than the mic port. You'll need to change the recording options in the sound properties (double click the speaker icon in the system tray down the bottom right/choose options/properties then select recording...

Well even tho the orig post was a bit of a pisstake its not a bad guitar, but at the time I tried one out & was seriously thinking about it they were $1600 NZ IIRC which in hindsight is a hell of a lot for what you get. They are definitely the lower end of the range & have a lot in common wi...
