Getting the footswitch for these amps really helps as well, your custom channels can be used with the preset to give you three channels. I found the FX switching a bit odd though.

If you're using a line-out link from the amp then it will probably bypass the power stage & so sound tinny and cheap.

If you're using a mic in front of the amp then it could be the mic quality or the quality of your soundcard.

I've heard of some companies wanting this - a scan of both sides of the card faxed to them to prove you've got it with you. Apparently it is legit though it sounds dodgy as to me...

I've always had luck with leather straps, my SG doesn't do this. I prob have the strap higher than avg though
